NEW TRAILER PRODUCTION STILLS RELEASED!

The Directors Video Blog on Facebook released new production stills from the second Minotaur trailer this morning. The new photos present the Minotaur's bridge, a new class of Borg Ship, and a dazzling shot of the crew. There are certainly BIG surprises ahead for Trekkies everywhere!

The series director/writer [David Quintana] mentioned that the new "behind the scenes" material is just another morsel for Trekkies to sate their appetite for a deeper look into this long anticipated series ever since the successful release of the initial series trailer. With fan interest now growing in Europe, South Africa, and the Middle East, the new "inside look" is sure to bring more fan email and inquiries through the series blog; which even now has broke previous studio records concerning incoming email.

"We are not the next big phenomena" says David. "We've had an outstanding promotional push and the series trailer definitely hit a nerve with the European Trekkie fan base because of our presentation of the Borg. We still have a long way to go to prove that the series will be great entertainment".

The studio has remained tight-lipped about progress on the series production, giving out very little information concerning the ship's crew and their possible alien lineup set for character build up. But there has been some leeway in the director/writer giving hint that the Commanding Officer of the Minotaur may be represented as an alien, but that has still not been confirmed.
Fans have written in inquiring the addition of the Ensign Jadrian Quest character [portrayed by the talented Dru Marie Rovito], a possible "prelude introduction" of the future Captain of the ASV PRECIPICE from the Star Trek Beyond web series, now posted on Facebook.  David stated that the character of STB plays a significant part of the plot and story for Minotaur, but that she is not the lead character in the new web series.

Minotaur will be releasing a second series trailer in August, of which David has said, "We have a talented cast on this series - all of whom are bringing their best skills to make the series a delightful run of fresh entertainment. I believe that we will be successful in our own special way, separating ourselves from story lines and plots that can be found in the vast line of other fan series on YouTube and on the web. This is a brave new attempt at creating a new Star Trek Universe while strictly remaining in line with Gene Roddenberry's vision and canon."

The series second trailer is bound to be released in mid-August, a release date has not been decided on.

  2. Great view of the bridge and (possible) astrometrics navigation area? It looks like this new series is being put together with interesting details and a preview of new technologies. I'm excited to see more! ^_^

  5. I'm loving the live action and original details your putting together for this series. Being a big trekkie, failing to produce details is rapidly separating the amateur fan projects from the seriously thought out films that hold true potential. As your series presents an interesting look, I hope it's on of the ladder productions.

  6. I'd like to start this anonymous comment off with a quick introduction of my sorry-ass self. I am a product of beastiality due to my mother's love for canines and I am the creep who has been on your Facebook page trying to heckle you ever since you launched news of this project on the web. Even though all Star Trek fan films use previously copyrighted material on their projects, I still have to ask you -

"Is this a Star Trek Online expansion, or are you just using their intellectual property?"

    That is all.

A coward who won't identify himself.

    1. Wow! - I am sure that most ST fan films have their fair share of hecklers and non-supporters. Extremists are always trying to make their point in some way or another, living their lives as Internet terrorists by stalking on projects. All fan films infringe on copyrights in some way or another and everyone knows that. Don't give these creeps any more attention than they deserve. Posting this crap certainly isn't the way to go to handle them. This post should be removed in its entirety.

    2. Did the anonymous cornhole see any STO "intellectual property" on the series trailer? - I sure as hell didn't. What a complete moron!

    3. Hey, he responded again. Said something about high school and something about only having a fan base on Facebook. Funny thing, he keeps coming back to here to post something...tell you that deep down, this ass-pirate is a fan. ^_^

    4. Yeah-yeah, we had a goof ball that stalked, heckled the cast and crew last year. He proclaimed himself our series critic after the creators left an open blog to build up comments and reviews. The idiot used it as a soap box to bitch and complain. We figured out he was some actor who was never accepted into a group project he was devoted to, so he just started hating all the ST projects. Has he brought up the "you only have a limited number of fans, so you wont get far" line?

    5. That and more, Steve. I spoke with David just this morning and apparently this joker had post comments on the FB page and was blocked; since then he's used alternate ghost FB pages to leave remarks or check on the pages updates. We all know this immature idiot is a guy and a proven stalker - and I've reassured David that none of his frail remarks will be posted or mentioned again. We're at 230 now, stalker!

    6. Actually, we're at 231 now...and I am not sure that counting ANY Facebook likes is considered a solid fan base. However...since "he who refuses to identify himself" is so sure that this new series is currently going "no where"...then I guess he has the inside scoop on the pulse of the world and we are going to have a long road ahead of us; I do not deny anyone's claims.

I will say that this series is being produced solely for fun, experience, and entertainment. We are not expecting world-wide acceptance; network contracts or large sums of cash flowing through it's production. We ARE expecting people to like the show and have a strong following of support and having good entertainment on what they see...so, take that as you like to.

As for "he who refuses to identify himself" and his attitude towards [and against] this production; I have a policy that says that I will meet clowns like you any time, any where, and any place you choose to for lunch [my treat] and we can chat about your opinions about our work. Don't hide behind your computer and post negative crap just to sate your thirst for creating useless drama on certain opinions "you think" others also share with you.

So contact me at arqweld@gmail.com and lets set up lunch. It's a different world when you have to actually meet a person; look them in the eye, then share your useless bravado in the "arena of the adults."

Seriously, I don't expect "YOU" to respond at all.

    9. The excitement takes many by surprise and there is little apprehension to debate the negativity of the apparent imbeciles who would try to calibrate a response that will shut down a project due to some one's own opinion. There are many people like you who are doing great things to keep Gene Roddenberry's dream alive of a utopian future where narrow minded visions are all but eradicated.

  10. Dave, where's the blog update for the new trailer!?!?

I have a ton of questions to ask and don't know how to begin, but I will say that this new look into Minotaur woke me the fuck up! Sensational cinematic eye and lighting. The bridge set looks well designed, original, futuristic and WITH NO LENS FLARES!! I almost want to see a behind the scenes look into how you put it all together, but deep down don't want you to ruin the feel of everything.

I just watched the trailer again and I am just overly excited to see this thing launch! The combat style uniforms work perfect for distancing Minotaur from all of the other fan productions who are sure to try and match it after its released. You definitely have an eye for the theatrics to present this sharp edged trailer, and I hope it's more than just a fan trailer.

But finally, your selection of an Andorian female Captain (with not so blue skin?) raises intriguing possibilities for the direction of the crews mission and clear indication that the creator(s) or writer(s) were greatly influenced by STOS and Roddenberry's ultimate universe.

I feel super privileged that the European audience got the first look at Minotaur!

  13. Best low budget fan ST trailer I have seen to date, but you have a long way to go to prove that the rest of what's built from the trailer will capture the support required from ST fans to build up a strong following.

  15. Yes, you have a lot to gloat about and there's no new blog update to boast about the new trailer? Either your falling behind on promo work or your just waiting to see how the fans react. Either way, the new look for the ST Universe is completely worth all of the secrecy, especially the direction of your ad campaign showing an alien Captain as the star of the show. Nice twist!

Question is, is this it? Will this trailer be the last one until the show starts or are you going to lure more Trekkies with another teaser?

David, I caught your video blog and I was initially agitated that you chose to release the 2nd Minotaur trailer to the European theater first, but your logic to expand the viewing audience with fresh treats makes a little sense. I cannot wait to see what you have in store for the rest of us. C. Flacco, Richmond, Va.
